Bones Spoilers
“There will be a proposal coming, probably during February Sweeps,” he tells us. “It is my mission to torture the fans with this one. There will be a proposal. It will be a real proposal. And it will move things forward in a way that I think the fans will like.” Which couple is it? Nathan wouldn’t rule anyone out for us, except for Hodgins and Angela, obviously, since they’re already wed. Could it be Sweets and Daisy, who got back together last week after remembering that along with sex, they have a love of Saved By the Bell in common? They ended up being last season’s much-teased marriage proposal, so that could be a bit anticlimactic. Could it be Cam and Paul (Elon Gold), who Nathan tells us will reenter the picture in the Feb. 3 episode? “They’ve had an on-again, off-again relationship,” he says. “Both of them being so incredibly busy, and him being an OB/GYN, he’s just called away all the time whenever they make a date because somebody’s going into labor. They have to make sense out of that part of their relationship.”

Ratings - The Babe in the Bar
Ratings were generally up Thursday night as a number of shows, including "Grey's Anatomy," "Bones," "CSI" and "The Mentalist," posted gains over last week. The usual order of things didn't change any, however, which meant CBS ended the night in first place.
CBS scored 13.5 million viewers and an 8.2 rating/14 share in households for the night, an improvement of about 800,000 viewers over last week. ABC (9 million, 5.7/9) was also up. FOX came in third with 7.2 million viewers and a 4.4/7, beating NBC (4.9 million, 3.0/5) by a healthy margin. The CW averaged 3.2 million viewers and a 2.0/3, but those numbers are inflated some because affiliates in Chicago and Miami aired an NFL game.
CBS' lead in the adults 18-49 demographic was much smaller. It earned a 3.3 rating, narrowly beating ABC's 3.1. FOX, 2.3, edged NBC, 2.2, for third place, while The CW came in at 1.1.
Thursday hour by hour:
8 p.m.
CBS: "The Big Bang Theory" (13.1 million viewers, 7.8/13 households)/"$#*! My Dad Says" (10.3 million, 6.2/10)
FOX: "Bones" (9.4 million, 5.7/9)ABC: Special - "A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving" (7.4 million, 4.1/7)
NBC: "Community" (4.4 million, 2.7/5)/"30 Rock" (5.2 million, 3.1/5)
The CW: "The Vampire Diaries" rerun (3.1 million, 1.9/3)
18-49 leader: "The Big Bang Theory" (4.3)

'Bones' exec teases romance twist
SPOILER WARNING
The executive producer of Bones has hinted that Brennan (Emily Deschanel) will soon confront her feelings for Booth (David Boreanaz).
Stephen Nathan told TV Guide that the anthropologist would be "forced to face [her] feelings" when she investigates the case of a workaholic murder victim.
"[Brennan] confronts the fact that this woman was running her whole life from feeling anything and she has to confront whether she's going to [do the same]," he explained. "It butts right up against her relationship with Booth and the past five years of history."
Series star Michaela Conlin (Angela Montenegro) recently admitted that she would like to see Booth and Brennan get together.
Bones continues on Thursdays at 8/7c on Fox.

Ratings: The Shallow in the Deep
Thursday's ratings offered a mixed bag of ups and downs: CBS fell compared to last week but still led across the board for the night. ABC was down some too as "Private Practice" came back to earth, but NBC was up slightly -- at least for now. The network's Baltimore affiliate aired an NFL game between the Ravens and Atlanta Falcons that is skewing the numbers somewhat.
In the network race, CBS led by a wide margin, averaging 12.7 million viewers and a 7.8 rating/13 share in households. ABC (7.8 million, 5.2/9) came in second, beating out FOX (7 million, 4.2/7). NBC's 5.6 million viewers and 3.4/6 were good enough to capture fourth place. The CW dipped a little compared to last week with 2.9 million viewers and a 1.8/3.
CBS also led the adults 18-49 demographic with a 3.0 rating, beating out ABC's 2.7. NBC finished third at 2.4, followed by FOX at 2.1 and The CW at 1.2.
The hourly numbers:
8 p.m.
CBS: "The Big Bang Theory" (13.1 million viewers, 7.7/13 households)/"$#*! My Dad Says" (9.7 million, 5.9/9)
FOX: "Bones" (9.15 million, 5.4/9)
NBC: "Community" (4.9 million, 3.0/5)/"30 Rock" (5.7 million, 3.5/6)
ABC: "Grey's Anatomy" rerun (4 million, 2.8/4)
The CW: "The Vampire Diaries" (3.5 million, 2.1/3)
18-49 leader: "The Big Bang Theory" (4.2)

Exclusive: Bones Spinoff Episode Pushed Back
The “planted spin-off” episode of Bones has has been delayed — I can feel it in my, um, bones. Sources confirm to me exclusively that production on the special episode that would introduce the offshoot’s central figure has been bumped from to December to February/March. A Fox rep declined to comment, but a source close to the show says the decision was made for creative reasons. The episode is now expected to air in the spring.
As previously reported, the potential offshoot would revolve around the main character in Walter Sherman’s Locator novels; he’s basically a recluse who can find anything.
Casting for the plum part is currently underway.

Survey by a University Student about Bones
Hey Everyone,
So a Bones fan is doing a survey about Bones for a class at their university. They would very much appreciate it if all Bones fans could complete this survey.
Thanks :)
"Hi! I'm doing a survey on Bones for one of my classes at McMaster University in Ontario, Canada. The survey is about Booth and Brennan's relationship, which I know a lot of us fans have strong feelings about. The answers will not be used for anything other than my paper (it isn't market research or anything like that). I can only use participants 18 and over due to ethics standards."

'Bones' Exclusive: Meet Booth's new archnemesis
One time 24 terror mastermind Arnold Vosloo is taking his evildoer act over to Bones. The actor has been cast as this season’s Big Bad — an elite sniper named Jacob Ripkin Broadsky who is accused of assassinating a pivotal recurring character.
“We’ve got someone worse than the Gravedigger coming,” Bones creator Hart Hanson told me over the summer. “And if the Gravedigger is Evil Brennan, this [guy] is Evil Booth. Remember, Booth was a sniper.”
Vosloo — who also played the title role in the Darkman films as well as Brendan Fraser’s nemesis in The Mummy and The Mummy Returns — is slated to appear in at least three episodes beginning in early ’11.

The Big Tease
A couple months ago, Cyndi Lauper had said she’d be shooting a ‘Bones’ episode in October. Can you tell me if she’ll repeat her role as Avalon Harmonia in Brennan’s POV episode, “The Doctor in the Photo,” or will it be in the next one? – Amanda
Thus far it is neither; Lauper’s encore has yet to be scheduled.

AdSense
Hey guys,
I am thinking of using Adsense to place ads on the blog, which would generate some money for the blog. If I were to do that, I will be able to use the money to improve the blog and to have fun things for everyone including contests.
However; if majority of people say they don't want Adsense on the blog, I will definitely respect that and not place any ads.
Please comment and let me know how you feel about this. Also, if anyone has any experience with Adsense, I would love to get some feedback.
Thanks!
-Anna

Ask Matt - October 25th
Question: Regarding the reported Bones spin-off: Do REAL spin-offs happen anymore, or always just back-door pilot characters created specifically to spin? — Brad (from twitter)
Matt Roush: I suppose the classic form of spin-off — taking a breakout character from an existing show and building a new show around him or her — is more rare nowadays because producers and networks are loathe to screw around with something that's working and risk doing damage to the ensemble by taking a key element away. (The only recent "classic" spin-off I can think of is Private Practice. And, though it required the original show to end for it to happen, the unfortunate Joey.) Nowadays, spin-offs tend to be extensions of a brand franchise (Law & Order, CSI, NCIS, Criminal Minds) or the riskier proposition (in the case of this projected Bones project) of trying to use a successful show to launch something new by bringing in a character and seeing if he or she pops well enough to earn a show of their own. That hardly even qualifies as a spin-off, more like a handoff.

100 Reasons I Can’t Quit Bones
1. Amy Cullen: The Graft in the Girl: This might seem crazy to be at the top of the list, but I can honestly say this episode changed my life. It’s so passionate, and I remember crying when I first watched it, wanting so desperately to have something in my life that I was as passionate about. Of course, at that time, I didn’t realize that BONES was going to be one of those things. But…I’m okay with that.
2. Brennan steals Booth’s fries. This is just…beyond…I don’t even know. She’s so matter of fact about things, and this is no different. And Booth cannot deny her much of anything, let alone that. He loves it too.
3. Everything Happens Eventually. It had darn well better!
4. Booth and Brennan sing Keep on Tryin to one another at the diner. I can’t even listen to that song without smiling.
5. Vincent Nigel Murray. J’adore.
6. Fire in the Ice: The entire episode. Brennan’s sweet wave to Booth. His return wave and confident grin. His cocky attitude as team captain of his hockey team; the way Brennan gets nervous when he falls down and she rushes out to the ice. The way he makes her drive him home and the way she picks up the soup from the place for him. And I love the way she stays up all night skating with him to keep him awake, how they both sort of joke about how legit that is. And they can’t keep their hands to themselves in a sweet and special and comfortingly sexy kind of way.

Bones: TV review
Bones examines the impact of war in a way its competitors can't
TV review: Bones may be slightly sugar-coated, but it's solid formula provides an enjoyable watch with an incredibly subtle message.
You always worry when US TV series wander overseas. So when Bones (Sky1) kicked off with Booth, one half of its surrogate Mulder and Scully power couple, on active duty in Afghanistan, my radar was twitching with a gung-ho America The Brave alert.
Instead, we got a subtle message about the implications of fighting other people’s wars.
It was so subtle that if you blinked, you might have missed it. But it’s the kind of detail that keeps Bones, now into its sixth season, a cut above your standard procedural.
Admittedly, the ruse that brought the far-flung team back from foreign adventures to the safe ground of their Washington base was skinny, to say the least.
If the hitherto blindingly competent Cam really couldn’t cope without her gang, then the past five series setting her up as a woman on top of her game must have been some kind of hallucination.
But I’ll forgive that for the continuing diversion offered by Emily Deschanel as forensic pathologist Temperance Brennan, a woman whose inability to read her fellow human beings (countered by her genius at analysing human bones) turns borderline autism into a spotlight on the absurd manners of human interaction.
It gets sugar-coated, and last night’s tale of finding a missing child could have done without its final ladle of treacle, but as formulas go, Bones is built on a persuasive one.

Is a Bones Spinoff in the Works?
Is Bones spinning off a second show? It sure sounds like it.
Fox is working on a series project that would revolve around a new character who will be introduced into the Bones world in the Dec. 6 episode, Deadline reports.
The character, Walter Sherman, is described as an eccentric but amusing recluse in high demand for his ability to find anything. He is skeptical of everything -- he suffered brain damage while overseas, which explains his constant paranoia -- and known for asking offensive, seemingly irrelevant questions to get to the truth.
Walter's also a former military policeman who served with Booth (David Boreanaz) in Iraq, but they don't get along. Dr. Brennan (Emily Deschanel), meanwhile, will be intrigued by Walter. The character is expected to recur on Bones throughout this season.
The spinoff, also from Bones creator Hart Hanson, is contingent on whether a suitable actor is found to play Walter. Casting is expected to begin soon.
The actor, yet to be cast, playing the character of Walter is scheduled to begin shooting on December 6th.
Bones, now in its sixth season, pulled in 9.8 million viewers for its most recent episode.

The Big Tease - Fancast
Do you have any idea how long Bones‘ “competition” (aka Hannah) will last on the show? It’s been said she would appear in at least five episodes, but are they still sticking to that initial plan? I really hope this third party is gone before the holiday break. – Amanda
Keep hoping. Though Katheryn Winnick said a few weeks back that Booth’s lady love will be around for a “handful” of episodes, judging by the scripts I’m spying, Hannah – despite having her life placed in jeopardy in the Nov. 4 outing – is very much still in play as late as Episode 9, which would air no sooner than December.

Mega Buzz
When are we going to meet the Bones sniper everyone's been talking about? — Melanie
ADAM: All signs point to very soon. The show has begun looking for an actor to play the three-episode role of an elite sniper who is suspected in the assassination of an important character. This particular suspect is an ex-Army sharpshooter who left his previous post in disgrace after being a little too trigger-happy during a hostage situation. He has been hiding under the names of other famous snipers, including Booth's, which is ultimately what leads the FBI straight to him. Well, that and the fact that he's the only person besides Booth who could make such an impossible kill shot.

Ask Matt
Question: Is it time for us Bones fans to give up on Eric Milligan making a return as our favorite serial killer's apprentice? I'm still holding a grudge against the show for treating him and us so thoughtlessly with that outrageous story line. Can't say I'm thrilled with Booth's new lover, either. If she must stay around, it seems only fair to bring back Sully for Bones. — PL
Matt Roush: Not sure if a Sully comeback is in the cards, since that actor is currently occupied guarding the secrets of Warehouse 13. And how much am I not surprised to get annoyed mail about Booth's new squeeze. Talk about a thankless task. Regarding Eric Milligan and Zack, it really is time to let that one go, isn't it?. I wasn't crazy about how all of that was handled, either, but I have become kind of attached to some of the assistant squints on the rotation (much as I enjoyed the parade of secretaries on Murphy Brown back in the day), so I can now see the wisdom in shaking up that part of the show. Still, it seems to me that if the writers come up with another story that allows them to bring Zack back in for a guest spot, they'd do it, but sparingly.
Emily Deschanel Supports World Go Vegan Week
t’s no surprise to us that Bones actress Emily Deschanel is speaking up in support of World Go Vegan Week — an initiative started by the nonprofit group In Defense of Animals.
Deschanel has been an outspoken vegan for many years and regularly discusses the health, environmental and animal welfare issues behind a plant-based diet.
“The 5th annual World Go Vegan Week is taking place this year from October 24th through 31st,” said Deschanel. “This week is a celebration of compassion and a time to take action for animals, the environment and everyone’s well-being. A plant-based diet not only improves your health, it significantly reduces your carbon footprint and preserves resources for future generations. So please join me in creating a healthy future and go vegan for World Go Vegan Week.”

David Boreanaz & His Sunday Brunch Bunch
David Boreanaz was all smiles on Sunday (October 10) as he headed out for brunch with wife Jaime Bergman and their kids Jaden, 8, and Bardot, 1.
The family dined at Marmalade Cafe in Calabasas, Calif. and while the cameras caught David looking ecstatic, little Bardot seemed less than thrilled. Like the rest of us, maybe she was growing weary of the weird SoCal weather – temps rocketed back into the high 90's again after several days of clouds and rain.

Bones Scoop
I just read that Enrico Colantoni (love him on ‘Flashpoint’!) is going to guest star on ‘Bones,’ and that the episode will have significance to Brennan. Inquiring minds would like to know more, please. – Andrea via Facebook
I too was happy to see Enrico book this role, because it’s a great one. He’ll be playing a Jeffersonian security guard in Episode 8, titled “The Doctor In The Photo.” This is a “special” outing told almost exclusively from Brennan’s point of view, and as such it’s a very cool character study. Enrico’s character happens to listen in on each and every heady lecture given at the Jeffersonian, so he has a lot to say and share with Temp as she puts in overtime with a corpse who, rather confusingly, “talks” to her. (P.S. The guard is named Micah Leggat, which I am convinced is an anagram. Best I can come up with is “The Magic Gal,” which could be a nod to the “talking” deceased.) And hey, a second ‘Veronica Mars‘ alum is in this ep: Francis “Weevil” Capra will play Rhino, a gang member suspected of murder.
